Golden Pearly Kowhai in the Wind earrings
Golden Pearly Kowhai in the Wind earrings
The subject is Inspired by the Kowhai, a small legume tree native to New Zealand. Birth directly from my collection ‘Field Guide from the Antipodean’ that I’d made for the 2019's Parcours Bijoux / Contemporary Jewellery Festival in Paris – consisted of 10 pendants echoing petrified gifts/souvenirs from the Antipodean, translating either playfulness or preciousness through each of the pieces. (See the last image for the entire collection).
This is for ONE long pair of 'Golden Kowhai in the Wind' earrings only. Designed and purposefully made so they would fall naturally, and articulate mechanically but fluidly as you would.
Each petal and segments are handcrafted, textured, hammered, pierced, drilled and soldered individually from Sterling solid silver and paired with some small lovely and organic shapes of freshwater Pearls. Then entirely plated with 18kt gold aka Vermeil with more than 2.5 microns.
APPROXIMATE measurements:
• total length of the leaf exclusive of ear wires, 5.8 cm x 1.9cm wide
• plated with 18kt gold aka Vermeil with more than 2.5 micron
• handcrafted pair by pair by me from my atelier in Paris, France.
