Small Pearly Kowhai in the Wind earrings
Small Pearly Kowhai in the Wind earrings
A small and dark oxidised version of this unique design is made with tiny freshwater pearls. The subject is Inspired by the Kowhai, a small legume tree native to New Zealand. Birth directly from my collection ‘Field Guide from the Antipodean’ that I’d made for the 2019's Parcours Bijoux / Contemporary Jewellery Festival in Paris. They are made pair by pair and none are alike. There have been Golden and Silver versions with Smokey Quartz and larger Pearls thus far.
This is for ONE pair of the 'Silver Kowhai in the Wind' earrings only. Designed and purposefully made so they would fall naturally, articulate mechanically but fluidly as you would.
Each leaf and segment are handcrafted individually; textured, hammered, pierced, drilled and soldered from Sterling solid silver. It is then oxidised for a dark grey finish...which will eventually over time wear off leaving you with a lovely antique patina.
APPROXIMATE measurements:
• total length of the leaf exclusive of ear wires, 5.7cm x 1.4cm wide
• accompanied by 4 tiny freshwater pearls
• handcrafted pair by pair by me from my atelier in Paris, France.
