This is for a one-of-a-kind / unique/ready-made Sterling Silver 925 necklace chain with a repurposed pre-engraved (on both sides) Antique Mother of Pearl MOP (Nacre) piece that's been re-cut into a drop shape and then claw-set onto a contemporary design. It is attached to the round hollow bail but it's free at the same time is able to swing independently. The entire pendant is free to move fluidly along a 16.5inch long chain.

This is a work connecting fragments of the past to the creation of a future, linking both history and the hereinafter. This Antique Victorian Mother Of Pearl Counter/Token/Chip date from the 18th Century (it is called jeton in French), one out of 2 pieces I'd acquired with that beautiful engraving. I have a good collection of MOP tokens though rarely have I seen ones with this detailed pattern.

Transforming precious objects that no longer serve a purpose into jewellery is also a passion of mine. Turning them into wearable art and history and subsequently, the wearer becomes a walking and talking museum.
